Can't Boot into Recovery - Lost Root Access

Hi,

Below is was my setup:

Latest TWRP Recovery
Alucard Kernel
S4 i9505
CM12.1 nightly
XPOSED v75
Viper4Android

Two days ago I decided to flash the sabermod kernel. At first I couldn't install it using the .zip (script error of some sort)

I then flashed the boot.img file as boot.

The phone was working fine for two days (rebooted twice at least).

On every Friday I download the latest nightly and flash it using the dirty flash method.

This is when I ran into trouble...

The TWRP is stuck on the Team Win screen.

I found a way to boot normally and decided to flash the alucard kernel back using Kernel Adiutor (boot.img).

The phone booted but now I have endless process stop errors (com.google.process.gapps) and I have lost root.

I need help...

Regards,

Jat

Lost LTE and internet access on some Wi-Fi networks after flashing Cyanogenmod

This is the first help post for anything tech-related that I've ever posted- I'm usually good enough with Google to fix my own problems, but this one has me flustered.

Until yesterday I was running DigitalHigh's GPE ROM but decided to give Cyanogenmod another try after some persistent lag issues. Everything went fine during the install until I noticed that I was stuck on 3G no matter what I did- airplane mode, reboot, clear the cache, try to update APN settings, etc., nothing helped. Additionally, while the phone will connect to my home wireless network, it has a ! next to the connection symbol despite my being able to use the network with my laptop. The funny thing is, this only happens with some networks. Neither my home network nor the network at work will give me internet access, but if I plug an ethernet cable into my laptop and create an access point that way, I'm fine.

Here's what I've tried so far after scouring these and other forums:

-Reverted back to the previous ROM
-Flashed new firmware
-Flashed two new kernels
-Tried every different APN setting I can think of
-Popped out my sim card, waited a bit, and popped it back in
-Rebooted countless times
-Cleared every cache I can think of
-updated TWRP

There's probably more that I can't think of off the top of my head as well. Does anybody have any idea what on earth has happened to my phone?

Root access for GT-I9195I?

Hi, I have a brand new, stock, unlocked, international version GT-I9195I, which I updated to Android 4.4.4 before attempting to root. I attempted to follow the instructions given here for root access. I didn't realize until just now that these instructions were for a slightly different model, the GT-I9195, not the GT-I9195I.

Two questions: first, have I done any harm by attempting to flash the GT-I9195 recovery onto my GT-I9195I? (It still boots and appears to work normally.) Second, where are the instructions to get root access for this particular model (Baseband version I9195IXXU1AOB1)? I found a thread here for installing TWRP but it doesn't seem to mention how to get root...

Custom Recovery access

Hi everyone, I've been reading several posts on the LG L90, particularly the D415 which is what I have and I do not have one thing clear.

How do I access the recovery mode when i turn the phone?

Yesterday I almost break my phone to test a custom room that was not discharged well, luckily I had a backup. If I did not have the backup, how I would initialized the phone?

Thank you everyone for your comments

Please forgive my English, it is not my native language.

5.1.1 No Mobile data, Unable to view the access point name settings.

I recently installed GogoDeluxe by Gogolie. The rom can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2759786
I made sure to follow the instructions precisely but now I do not have any mobile data. I wanted to verify that my APN settings are correct for Verizon USA but when I go to the APN settings menu I get this error: "Unable to view the access point name settings. Access is restricted for the current user profile."

After flashing a rom mod storage (SD and Internal) access denied.

Hello, i'm having a problem here. I have a Galaxy S5 and i am using XtroLite Lollipop Rom for quite some time now. Yesterday i decided to flash the aroma mod of it's rom so i could add the option fo multiple windows. I had done it before with the same aroma mod and it worked flawessly so i flashed and it did work, but then i noticed some errors and when i looked the explorer both of my storages (internal and external) are there but show no files inside and apparently give no access permissions, the only thing i have permission to access is the root folder. When i go to philz touch recovery i can check the files on both storages and they are there its most likely they are just not accessible. Tried to plug to a pc while on recovery but no deal. I searched google a lot but didn't find anything related, i also can use most of the apps that were installed on the phone but can't install any newer, cause of internal storage being inaccessible, and im without a terminal installed atm.

I kindly ask for some help, thanks in advance.

Recover photos from bootlooping G2 (VS980)? Can access download mode

Hey everyone, I've had my old G2 kicking around for awhile and let one of my friends borrow it awhile ago while his phone was out of commission. I returned it to stock before letting him, so it's stock rom, recovery, etc. While he was using it, apparently he lost service while an update was applying and now it just bootloops. I have the phone back, and he doesn't need it, but if possible he'd like to get back some photos (and maybe contacts) that were on it.

It boots to the Verizon logo, but then just hangs there. I can get into download mode, but I don't know if there is a way to use adb or something to pull photos and stuff off of it from there? If anyone has any suggestions, that would be great!

Thanks.

Please help access my battery (Picture)

Hello dear friends. I got a D851 G3 on eBay few weeks ago. Just few days using it I discovered the battery life is so terrible. I spend nearly the same time charging as I spend using. It came with 5.0.1
Today I decided to see how long really does my battery last. I charged 100%, turned my data to 2G and put screen brightness at 0%.
I am attaching a picture of my battery usage as at when typing this. With the conditions above, in 3 hours, I'm nearly at 50% battery. Please how bad is this? Is this normal for G3? What can be the problem and how can I solve it. I love the phone but this is giving me concern because charging all the time is jeadacheheadache.

One more thing, it also trips off especially when the battery is low. At 4G it also gets extremely hot, at one time I had to put in the refrigerator for a few minutes.

Heeeelppppppp!!!

Nexus 5 with Android 6, can access phone contents on Win 7 pc

Hi,

I recently installed the OTA Android 6 update.

All seems fine, except today I wanted to copy some of my photos off the
phone and put them onto my PC. But when I connect the phone to the pc
all it shows is the icon of the Nexus 5 but does not show any folders!

Does anyone know if there is a hidden setting somewhere that I have to
enable or is there something else I need to do?

BTW, I have my phone unlocked (not rooted) when I connected the phone so it is unlocked
while connected to the PC via the USB cable.

Any help would be appreciated.

How to access the BIOS on a Lenevo Tab S8-50 !

Thanks to @social-design-concepts , we are now able to access the UEFI Setup on the Lenovo Tab S8-50; In order to do that, you must first follow these steps:
Requirements :
1- A Computer, preferably windows.
2- A micro USB cable to plug the Tab into the computer.
3- You must have the proper ADB drivers installed.
Steps:
1- Make sure your Tablet has been rooted, and has at least 50 % battery life just in case.
2- Plug in your Tablet, and you should see a window open up on your tablet, which says to either connect as a Media Device, or a Camera. Make sure to check the Media option. Make sure to also check the box that says USB Debugging.
3- Once all those steps are completed, you must download the attached ADB file suite I compiled from the Android Developer Kit. It has no virus so don't worry.
4- Once the files are download, and you are sure your tablet is connected, extract the files to your desktop.
5- Open the up the extracted folder, which should be named as "adb", and press the Shift key on your keyboard, and right click anywhere until you see "Open command window here" option in the drop down menu.
6- You should see a command prompt window appear which says " c: \adb > "
7- you want to first type in " adb push efibootmgr32 /data/local/tmp/efibootmgr " without the quotation marks obviously.
8- Then you want to type in " adb shell "
9- If you did the previous step correctly the command line should change to " shell@S8-50F:/ $ " or something like that.
10- After seeing that message, you want to then hit the space bar once after the $ sign and type in " cd /data/local/tmp "
11- Then it should look something like this " shell@S8-50F:/data/local/tmp $ "
12- Simply type in the word " su " and it should change to " root@S8-50F:/data/local/tmp # "
13- You then need to type in " chmod 6755 efibootmgr " after the pound sign, just make sure there is one space between " chmod " and the #
14- Then, like the previous command, make sure there is one space between the pound sign and the command " ./efibootmgr -? " and once you type that in, you should see a long list appear.
15- Then after that you want to type in with the space between the # sign and this following command " ./efibootmgr -v "
16- Then you want in " ./efibootmgr -n 0001 "
17- Finally, you need to type in " reboot -p "
18- This will reboot your tablet, but you must manually turn it back on.
19- You will see a long list of random commands in yellow and white flash on your screen.
20- make sure you have a powered otg usb cable powered by a separate power source other then your tablet in order to connect a keyboard
21- Once that is plugged into your tablet, type in " exit "
22- you should be greeted by a white screen with a blue bar on top and a bunch of commands.
22- That is how you access the bios.
- You now have the option to modify many other options, such as disabling fast boot in order to install windows, allocate more gpu memory and so on.
- here is the link to the original link where you get a better view as to what the commands should look like.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gene...2989791/page71

Hopefully this works. NOTE: I am not responsible for any damage that may be caused to your device.

Cloudy 3.3 Cannot access storage from computer

Hey guys,
I just installed CloudyG2 yesterday. No problems. Today I try to set up Xposed and fiddle around with that (EDIT: To clarify, I did not actually install Xposed.) but I can't get the phone to be recognized by the PC. The only thing that shows up on the phone is the charging slowly message.
  • LG drivers are installed and up to date

  • The cable is most definitely a data cable

  • I have changed the PC connection setting on the phone to MTP

  • I have tried two different computers and all their USB ports

I searched and searched but I can't find any solutions outside of what I already checked above.
LG G2 VS980
CloudyG2 3.3
Any thoughts on what I might try next? I'd love to avoid a full wipe and reinstall if at all possible as the only computer I have access to is my work computer and I am off for two days.
Thanks in advance.

[Q] How to access the internal storage of other application?

Hello, I am developing an application and I wonder if it is possible to access the internal storage of other applications, know that it is possible to access the internal storage of standard applications such as photos, documents, etc.
But I wonder if it is possible to access the internal storage of all applications, not just the standards. If possible, how I do it?

Disable OTA - Keep SDCard Write Access and Use a Different Launcher *READ BEFORE BOOT

This must be done before the first time you connect to Wifi or you will likely receive the update that will "fix" the two features in the title. I purchased a second Fire to determine what it would take to disable the initial OTA. At no time connect to Wifi until all this is complete!

The steps are basically as follows:

Boot the fire the first time and bypass the setup.

Enable ADB by going to Settings> Device Options. Keep tapping on the Serial Number field until the Developer options field appears.

Under Developer options Enable ADB

Hook the Fire up to your computer and do the following commands:

adb shell pm hide com.amazon.otaverifier
adb shell pm hide com.amazon.device.software.ota
adb shell pm hide com.amazon.settings.systemupdates

I don't know which of three is the magic one, But you can not longer go to device options > system update. It also never appears to pull down the update in the background. I've rebooted multiple times and used the tablet on wifi with no update to 5.0.1.

This will work on a fresh out of the box tablet but once updated, well you've got to wait for other more talented people to figure out how to get root.

Lost access to internal memory after flashing. Tried EVERYTHING.

Here's how I spent my last night.
I have I9500. I decided to downgrade from 5.1.1 CM, did wipe, flashed MIUI. Didn't liked it - wiped - flashed CM 4.4.2 11-20140217.
First sign of a problem were black previews in default Gallery (I can't say if it was on MIUI or CM); then I tried to install xposed and got error. It become evident that my /Android/data/ is read-only (my camera was crashing on startup, browser - when I tried to download file).
I tried to change permissions via Root Explorer -> got an error ("Can't change permission, possibly you have file system that don't allow that."). I Googled, tried some apps, without success. Tried various terminal commands, a lot - with same result. Then I formatted all partitions via recovery (they all was ext4). Fixed permissions. Installed CM nad Gapps again - no result. I wanted to format my phone via PC, but coudn't figure out how to mount it as Mass Storage.
Help, please. I'm at my wits end.

Sorry for grammar.

P.S.
Yeah, I totally forgot - last option I'm gonna use is flash original firmware via Odin. Problem is it's kinda heavy, and my internet is not so good.

Phone softbricked while rooting, can only access download mode

...and now I have no idea what to do.

Windows 10 doesn't like the phone (as in "unknown usb device error 43"), I have no idea what firmware to flash or what tool to use.

Model is D855

I appreciate any help

So i recently update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
I wanted to install flashify as a system app using adb, which didnt go well.
I unplugged the usb cable without making "safe usb unplug thing" on windows 7.
I dont know why, but now i cant access the internal stroage on the phone. When i plug the usb cable m pc detects the nexus but when i click folder to load the internal content i see a blank page.
