MoStorage
Since I had the S2 a couple of years ago, I saw some interesting stuff about PIT modifying to gain more storage.
Since the S4 also uses them, I was able to modify the GT-I9505 PIT file and gain about 3GB Internal SD Storage.
Using PIT Magic I found these entries:
Entry #15: System
Entry #17: Cache
Entry #28: Userdata (This must count as Internal SD storage)
I edited the values using this tutorial.
I came across this:
The latest entry starts at block 30,777,311, The block with the highest number after that is entry 28 (aka Userdata), which originally starts at block 11,309,656.
With a little math:
30,777,311 - 11,309,656 = 19,467,655
1 Block is 512 bytes, so: 19,467,655 * 512 = 9,967,439,360 KB Internal SD storage
The modified PIT shows us this:
30,777,311 - 5,417,816 = 25,359,495
25,359,495 * 512 = 12,984,061,440 KB Internal SD storage
This means we gain about 3GB of extra storage.
The modified PIT file has 1GB system partition and 1GB Cache partition, do not use this pit with large touchwiz roms, it may not even work with light touchwiz roms.
This is untested!!
I need somebody who can risk bricking his S4 (GT-I9505!!!!).
Make nandroid backup and keep these files available:
Odin (ofcourse)
Original PIT file
TWRP Recovery (Odin flashable)
Your nandroid backup
Please run a custom rom as CM12.1 Optimized by JDC Team with gapps of your choice and check if there is enough space left in the partitions.
