LG G3 D855 only rooted, I want to unroot update and root again

I've rooted some months ago my D855, I rooted it only because I want to write on the SD and use some software that requires root. Since 1 month my G3 says to me that there is a google patch that increase the usability. I'd like to update, but when I try to do this it says to me that rooted devices cannot be updated.
Then I'd like to unroot my device, update, and then root it again, but I'd like to do this without miss my data. How can I do? Some hint?

Sprint Rooted Galaxy S6 920P. MSL# Help

I am trying to use my phone as a wifi hotspot. I've tried calling sprint, the sprint store i purchased the phone from, and live chat attempting to get my MSL code. I've tried the terminal getprop ril.MSL rooted and non. .. nothing is working. The msl apps don't work. Does anyone know another way to get my msl, or a way to use root access to allow wifi hotspot without msl?

HELP i rooted my phone and now it doesn't work

Hello,
I rooted my phone and then i istalled a new ROM. The ROM had some problems so i removed it trough recovery mode ---> clean to istall a new ROM
After that i accidentally type on "factory reset" and now i can't use my phone (it only shows me the logo screen)
i tried to istall other ROM but they didn't work ( they caused non-stop rebooting in my device)
HTC desire 510
android version 4.4.3
Can someone help me please?

Accidently J tagged/bricked my rooted s4 sch-I545. Need a script please.

So I tried playing around with permissions and accidently removed execute permission in the data folder.. The phone is an unlocked verizon and locks up when turned on and stays stuck on the red verizon logo screen. Now I get this error when I tried using android recovery:

E: failed to mount /data (Invalid argument)
can't mount '/data' (Invalid argument)
Odin failed me and so has trying to "apply update from internal storage"

No my dumb but did not put recovery software on my phone.. Ummm Duuuuuh. Well, I am guessing that I need a script to apply from ADB that will fix the permission in the data file to be able to execute. Hoping one of you genius' has the answer. Have never used ADB before but I think it is the only way to fix my phone. Thank you in advance.

[ROM][ZIP] SM-G900P OG1 Stock Rooted Deodexed ROM

Hey everyone!
Here is the promised almost 100% stock deodexed ROM. This build differs from the odexed build in that it is now deodexed, comes pre-rooted and deKnoxed.

This is a stand-alone ROM that can also be used as a base by anyone that would like to use it for their own ROM.

REQUIREMENTS:
You MUST be on a Lollipop bootloader in order for this ROM to work. I recommend flashing the OG1 Stock TAR and then Philz Recovery through Odin prior to flashing the ROM.
ROM FLASHING:
- Boot to your custom recovery (recommended recovery is Philz Touch v6.41.6).
- Wipe Cache.
- Wipe Dalvik Cache.
- Wipe System and Data (Under "Wipe Data/Factory Reset" and then "Clean to Install a New ROM" in Philz Touch).
- Flash ROM!
- Enjoy!

As a side-note I would strongly recommend flashing Tdunham's Debloat tool before running the ROM for the first time. It comes with a TON of bloat (thank you Sprint and Samsung!). You can get the Debloat tool in the attachments on this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/spri...dexed-t3128908
CHANGELOG:
OG1 Stock Rooted Deodexed v1.0 - Initial Release (Released 10/15/15)
- Deodexed ROM
- Added Root
- Removed Knox
DOWNLOADS:
Deodexed OG1 ROM
OG1 Stock Restore TAR
Philz Touch Recovery v6.41.6
Enjoy!

Is it impossible to flash an AOSP rom on a rooted AT&T S5 Active?

Hello!

I've done some reading and having not gotten a satisfactory answer I thought I'd throw my question out to the community.

I'm currently running Twisted Lollipop v7.

I can Odin back to stock 4.4.2 whenever and redo towelroot and install safestrap etc.

I've been unsuccessful at flashing an AOSP rom and wanted to confirm once and for all if it is truly impossible to flash Blisspop or Cyanogenmod or Sonic or any of those I enjoyed on my trusty old S3 onto my unlocked At&T S5 Active.

If it is not possible I will get rid of this unlocked AT&T S5 active and get a used what? The T-mobile variant? The international variant? I just want to be able to flash whatever the hell I want without too much hassle! I do like the phone other than that though!

Looking forward to any advice!

Thanks!

Edbogue

KitKat to Marshmallow update diary, kept apps and settings, rooted

I managed to upgrade my Nexus 7 2013 LTE from KitKat to Marshmallow using factory images yesterday and took some notes. All apps and settings kept (or at least I haven't noticed any issues other than no Xposed) and rooted. I figured someone might find this useful.

So, short version: upgrading directly from 4.4.4 to 6.0 with factory images didn't work without wiping data and where's the fun in that? So I took a longer route and went 4.4.4->5.02->5.1.1->6.0.0. It's possible I could've gone from 5.0.2 to 6.0 or 4.4.4 to 5.1.1 directly but I'm not going to try and see if that's the case. Enjoying Marshmallow now.

Basically, I did the same thing for all three update steps:
  1. Unpacked factory image, rebooted to bootloader, flashed bootloader, radio, system.img, boot.img, cache.img. I rebooted to bootloader after flashing bootloader and again after flashing radio, same thing the flashall.bat does. Don't know if it matters.

  2. Booted to TWRP recovery, flashed supersu zip and renamed /system/recovery-from-boot.p to keep TWRP.

  3. Booted system and grew some gray hairs while the boot animation went on and on until it finally got to the long "optimizing apps" phase.

For 6.0 I flashed a modified kernel and supersu beta 2.52.

So, enjoying Marshmallow now. No issues so far. Root cloak detectors seem to be becoming a plague and I've only used an Xposed module for that.

Flashing Stock to Rooted Nexus 6

I'm going to upgrade my Project Fi Nexus 6 to Marshmallow. I usually just flash the latest full image (minus userdata) and then reroot. Is there any reason to or not to flash bootloader?

Thanks,
Allen

Updating my stock rooted 910h to 5.1.1

So I just realized that my 910h has received 5.1.1 update, I've been retried from flashing long ago and i don't remember anything.

It's rooted and I don't remember how, is it safe to download a firmware from samfirmware for any country(Which one is better?) that is for 910h, and just go to odin and flash it? will it lose root/data?

[Q] From rooted Kitkat to Lollipop

Hi!

My Z1C is rooted, has dualrecovery and is running a stock 4.4.2 (14.3.a.0.757)

I also have a lot of customizations via XPosed.

What would be the easiest way to upgrade to a Lollipop version? Someone suggested I can just upgrade and use towelroot afterwards to regain root, but I could not find any verification of that.

Is it safer to flash a pre-rooted zip and if so can anyone point to a decent source?

Also, will XPosed Framework still be functional on Lollipop? I hear there are so many headachy changes to the security layout that I am not sure of that, but right now I'Äd feel safer with a version that has Stagefright fixed...

Let me know what you think!

Thanks

question regarding 5.1 update on xt1033 (rooted, BL unlocked)

hello XDA.
I have a first gen motoG (xt 1033, india) and I'm on stock 5.0.1 ROM

BootLoader is unlocked and the device is rooted.
I was having trouble updating to 5.1 from the OTA update as after the download the device was getting crashed at the reboot, with the update error.

if i donwload the update file (Retail Asia 5.1 Stock ROM (Optimized) v1.0 (337mb) by lost 101 and istall from recovery:

1. would it clear all my data nd installed apps as opposed to the OTA in which existing apps and data is preserved?

2. would i have to root again?

Xmodgames: Works for Rooted S5 Lollipop?

So, I've been having a few problems with Xmodgames, which is an application used to mod games. I installed MCPE, latest version, and for some reason, I am not able to mod it as the same error keeps appearing whenever I launch Xmodgames, then go into MCPE and then trying to open the list of mods. Can someone give me an insight to this?
