Asus Zenpad Z380 root method?

It looks like Z580c and other Intel based recovery method doesn't work (T1-T4), but fastboot OEM unlock works.
Is there other method allows to install TWRP and root?

Asus Zenfone 2 ZE500CL Information and questions?

So I made an account just for this as this seems to be the phone I'm gonna have to sit on for a while (sold my nexus 5 in a time of need.. regret now of course haha!).

Basically what I want to know is, is any development with the ZE500CL model in the progress or going to happen? I know this much

It can be rooted
xposed can be installled
Thats all i know.

A few questions I have are

Is it possible to switch the internal storage with the external sd on this device? Like using the external sd as internal storage default?

Will there be a custom rom for this model or is one being developed?

What will happen if you strip it of asus launcher and use stock android launcher or googles?

Sorry if this is the wrong forum or if I said something I shouldn't have, I've been lurkin since I was 14 but am just now making an account when I'm 18..

Asus ZenFone 2 Back Cover Cracking

Hi guys!
I recently noticed that the back cover on my ZenFone 2 has started to crack on the corners from the cover being taken off (http://imgur.com/a/xNyXw) after talking to a friend who also owns the ZenFone 2 who said that the same exact thing was happening to them I decided to talk to Asus support about any viable replacement options and unfortunately the only option I was provided with was to RMA the device either by just sending them my phone and having to wait for them to fix it and send it back to me, or the RMA Express option which costs .00 (and you have to put a credit card on file with them) and they'll ship you a new phone and you just send them the broken one and you're done. I personally find these options a little unfair as I'm someone who needs their phone and can't really wait a month for my phone to be fixed or afford to pay a .00 processing fee to get a new phone sent to me, and I really think that Asus should just be shipping a new back cover to customers who are experiencing this issue, like Apple did with the bottom cover replacement for the MacBook Unibody 2009-2010, and get the customer to ship the cracked cover back to Asus.

EDIT: Oh just a note, I have always been super careful with this phone, and I've only taken the back cover off 2-3 times and always gently. And I've never dropped the phone and it's been in a case since day one.

TF700T Utilities Driver Not Available on ASUS Support

Hi,

I rooted my TF700T so that I can install CyanogenMod onto my tablet, however, when I go to the ASUS website (drivers and downloads) section to select Utilities from the Operating System drop down menu there are no options to select.

What would my next steps be?

Thanks in advance

Tablet Froze; Couldn't Boot Recovery, Couldn't Boot ROM, Kept Rebooting to Asus Logo

This isn't as much as a "help!" question because I got the tablet working again (by flashing a stock blob); it's more of an question to try find out if I can prevent this from happening again...

I was just browsing tapatalk when my tablet froze. I rebooted and saw the tablet kept rebooting to the Asus logo. Recovery didn't work (it kept rebooting after the recovery logo would appear) and the the ROM (KatKiss LP v29) wouldn't boot.

Flashing TWRP again with fastboot didn't work. I couldn't flash the ROM again or use my Nandroid... I ended up formatting recovery with fastboot, flashed a stock blob to get it working again, and then restored from there, but it was a pain.

So I'm curious if anyone can guess what may have happened and if there is any way to prevent it from happening again?

Moto G (2014) vs ASUS ZenFone 2

Hi guys! I want an upgrade from my really crappy Lenovo A328. It comes with a lot of bloatware, and the max brightness of the screen is like the lowest brightness of my mom's S6.

I was really looking forward to but the Moto G (2015) but unfortunately, it's not available in our country.
Only very recently did Motorola make a comeback to the Philippines. They only released three devices, the Moto X (2014), the Moto E (2015), and the Moto G (2014).
They said that they will test the market here before releasing the newer versions here in our country. Unfortunately, Motorola here in our country isn't really *that* known for making new smartphones, and their name is kinda synonymous with the flip phone. They said that they'd release the Moto G (2015) here as quick as possible before December if sales are good. but like I said earlier, I don't think that's gonna happen.

So, the Moto G (2014) costs about 5 USD here while the ZenFone 2 (16GB/2GB RAM) costs about 0 USD. Please don't bother suggesting the GB version for me. This is just gonna be a gift from my parents and they've put a strict mark on 0 USD.

So:
Display: (brightness etc)
Build Quality: (creaks etc)
Software: (updates and fluidity)
Performance: (games and multitasking)
Longevity: (dev community like custom ROMs)
Speakers:
Camera:

Thanks!

Asus MemoPad7 Build.prop I(ntel BayTrail)

Hello Guys! I have overwrited my build.prop file with the buil.prop of Nvidia Shield. I hoped it will alllow me to play Need For Speed No Limits on higher graphics. Yea I was dumb, Nvidia got Tegra GPU and mine got something else :D

1)Can someone upload stock Asus MemPad 7 intel baytrail build.prop file? I accidentally deleted mine.

2) Does changing of build.prop allow you to fake device info and make apps detect your device as other one? For example need for speed no limits detect device info and set "recommended graphic settings" but i want to play on higher graphic.

Thanks!

Strange app preinstalled on asus ME173X

Hi guys, two years ago I bought a tablet to my brother as a birthday gift. the tablet in question bought it to MediaWorld. of course I kept it for a few days with me to see if it worked and had no problems. Today my brother came to me to signal me a system app rather strange. The app is called pornclub; I can not open it and uninstall it, I can just turn it off. the only problem is that two years ago, this app was not installed on the tablet. can you tell me if it is a malware? and if it is a virus, you know you tell me how to remove it? thank you all!!

Chinese apps on WW_2.20.40.97 firmware from Asus

Hi all,

I recently received a second hand Z00AD (2GB / 32GB, 1.83Ghz) which I believe was purchased from China (it has a Chinese manual & charger). It was running a WW firmware when I first received it, which OTAed up to 2.20.40.97 (WW) when I got it out of the box.

I wasn't too surprised that the phone came with a lot of Chinese apps built into the firmware - e.g. a Chinese game store, lots of links to Yahoo China & a couple of other Chinese apps - and also defaulted to the Chinese language on a factory reset (but could be changed to English easily enough).

I figured that if I downloaded the latest full version of WW_2.20.40.97 from Asus' website, adb sideloaded it & did a factory reset in Recovery that I would lose all the Chinese apps & perhaps default to English. To my surprise, however, all the Chinese apps remained!

I downloaded the firmware from here:

https://www.asus.com/Phone/ZenFone_2...Desk_Download/

My questions are:

1. Does flashing WW_2.20.40.97 default to the Chinese language & come preloaded with Chinese apps on all devices?
2. If it does, are there official firmwares that do not come with Chinese apps?
3. If it doesn't then why is this happening on my phone & is there a way to modify my device to behave like a worldwide phone without Chinese apps?
4. Is it possible to default the language to English after a factory reset?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

Mike

Asus ZENFONE 6 A600CG CyanogenMod Porting - Help

Hi Devs!
I'm trying to let ZenFone 6 run CyanogenMod, but actually I'm stuck at the beginning!
I made a device tree and a small vendor tree, then I've also imported the kernel (took from Asus website) and i've put it in the cm12.1/kernel/asus/a600cg .
When I try to compile with the command mka it gives me this error:

Code:

find: "dummy": No such file or directory
find: "../../../../../../external/hamcrest/src": No such file or directory
find: "../../../../../../external/junit/src/org": No such file or directory
find: "../../../../../../external/hamcrest/src": No such file or directory
build/core/base_rules.mk:154: *** kernel/asus/a600cg/external/iproute2/ip: MODULE.TARGET.EXECUTABLES.ip already defined by external/iproute2/ip.  Stopped.

#### make failed to build some targets (44 seconds) ####

Could you please help me? I would really love to compile it :)
Thanks!

Can anyone give me a flash-able zip of the Kids Mode app. I uninstalled most of the bloat on the stock rom and wanted to keep this one.

Thanks!

Can anybody share Z Stylus with Asus z580ca experience?

Hi,

Can anybody give some short review about using Z Stylus for note taking? Not like clumsy poking in to the screen (like all youtube videos) but proper writing, holding stylus like a pen with tablet on a desk.
How prices is it. Also, how responsive the stylus in OneNote, for example. Is there big delay? Can you compare with Samsung Note devices?

Thanks!

LG G watch R or Asus Zenwatch 2?

Hey all,

Last week I pre-ordered the Asus Zenwatch 2 for 170 euro's. I recently found out that Vodafone has a big sale; the LG watch R is now available for just 125 euro's. The specs are about the same so I'm in doubt. Wich one should I go for? The only thing I'm afraid of is that the support for the LG G watch R will end sooner than the support for the new Asus Zenwatch 2. What are your thoughts on this?

Greets,

Asus MeMo Pad 10 (ME102A)K00F

My buddy gave me a tablet to look at. It is the Asus Memo Pad 10 Model K00F (ME102A). The problem is it is stuck at the Asus logo on start up. I got into the recovery menu through the Power and Vol+ button and tried to wipe data/factory reset. That does its thing but still wont boot. I have gone through Asus' site and downloaded the latest update and with ADB tried to "apply update from ADB" from the recovery console using the sideload command. On the latest files (3.11 from the Asus support site) it sends to the tablet but then fails after "verifying update package... Installation aborted." I have tried with both the US and the WW versions of the firmware. I managed to find the 3.9 firmware from an older Asus site. I tried both the US and WW versions and it gets to installing update but then fails with this error. :"assert failed: !less+than_int(1381952086, getprop("ro.build.date.utc")) installation aborted." Now my best guess is that the update that broke it was the update between 3.9 and 3.11 hence the 3.9 has problems with dates while 3.11 doesn't have something correct for it to verify.
Any suggestions on what we can do with this? Asus does provide source code for the Kernels at all revision numbers so if there was a way to compile and flash something we can go from there. Please help or point me in the correct direction. Thank you,
