Asus Zenfone 2 ZE500CL Information and questions?

So I made an account just for this as this seems to be the phone I'm gonna have to sit on for a while (sold my nexus 5 in a time of need.. regret now of course haha!).

Basically what I want to know is, is any development with the ZE500CL model in the progress or going to happen? I know this much

It can be rooted
xposed can be installled
Thats all i know.

A few questions I have are

Is it possible to switch the internal storage with the external sd on this device? Like using the external sd as internal storage default?

Will there be a custom rom for this model or is one being developed?

What will happen if you strip it of asus launcher and use stock android launcher or googles?

Asus ZenFone 2 Back Cover Cracking

Hi guys!
I recently noticed that the back cover on my ZenFone 2 has started to crack on the corners from the cover being taken off (http://imgur.com/a/xNyXw) after talking to a friend who also owns the ZenFone 2 who said that the same exact thing was happening to them I decided to talk to Asus support about any viable replacement options and unfortunately the only option I was provided with was to RMA the device either by just sending them my phone and having to wait for them to fix it and send it back to me, or the RMA Express option which costs .00 (and you have to put a credit card on file with them) and they'll ship you a new phone and you just send them the broken one and you're done. I personally find these options a little unfair as I'm someone who needs their phone and can't really wait a month for my phone to be fixed or afford to pay a .00 processing fee to get a new phone sent to me, and I really think that Asus should just be shipping a new back cover to customers who are experiencing this issue, like Apple did with the bottom cover replacement for the MacBook Unibody 2009-2010, and get the customer to ship the cracked cover back to Asus.

EDIT: Oh just a note, I have always been super careful with this phone, and I've only taken the back cover off 2-3 times and always gently. And I've never dropped the phone and it's been in a case since day one.

I want to know , If I can port the sailfish os 2.0 to the Zenfone 4 , X86 intel based chipset...:confused:
As I heard sailfish os 2.0 got x86 support?
If yes, Can anybody give me some starting tips?:):):)..
Also Cynogenmod 12.1 has been successfully ported to Zenfone 4,( I am using it).

Moto G (2014) vs ASUS ZenFone 2

Hi guys! I want an upgrade from my really crappy Lenovo A328. It comes with a lot of bloatware, and the max brightness of the screen is like the lowest brightness of my mom's S6.

I was really looking forward to but the Moto G (2015) but unfortunately, it's not available in our country.
Only very recently did Motorola make a comeback to the Philippines. They only released three devices, the Moto X (2014), the Moto E (2015), and the Moto G (2014).
They said that they will test the market here before releasing the newer versions here in our country. Unfortunately, Motorola here in our country isn't really *that* known for making new smartphones, and their name is kinda synonymous with the flip phone. They said that they'd release the Moto G (2015) here as quick as possible before December if sales are good. but like I said earlier, I don't think that's gonna happen.

So, the Moto G (2014) costs about 5 USD here while the ZenFone 2 (16GB/2GB RAM) costs about 0 USD. Please don't bother suggesting the GB version for me. This is just gonna be a gift from my parents and they've put a strict mark on 0 USD.

Asus ZENFONE 6 A600CG CyanogenMod Porting - Help

Hi Devs!
I'm trying to let ZenFone 6 run CyanogenMod, but actually I'm stuck at the beginning!
I made a device tree and a small vendor tree, then I've also imported the kernel (took from Asus website) and i've put it in the cm12.1/kernel/asus/a600cg .
When I try to compile with the command mka it gives me this error:

ZENFONE 2 Telegram Group

As per my experience it is difficult for everyone to always login into xda and check the news always.
So what I felt is if there is a group or a community of the most active users who can solve out all the issues quickly in a. Normal VoIP App which now a days is a fuzz

As Telegram would also not require your personal phone number a user name is enough to handle the things.


If at all there is a similar thread. Sorry I dint skim through all the threads.

[ZENFONE 5][REQUEST] Bootloader unlocker compatible with 1.2GHz model

Hello,

I tried to use CM12.1 and Resurrection Remix 5.5.6 in my device, but I am experiencing endless random freeze/reboots. Doing some research, I got the info that the ifwi image used to unlock the bootloader is compatible with a limited set of Zenfone 5 devices (mainly 1.6GHz models), and using such ifwi with the wrong model will cause this freezing problem.
The question is: can anyone provide an ifwi image able to be used for unlocking the bootloader of 1.2GHz Zenfones? How could it be done? How can the user community help with that?

zenfone 5 bricked plz help

i was upgrading my phone from kk to l. In droidboot mode i typed "fastboot flash fastboot boot.img" instead of "fastboot flash fastboot fastboot.img" mistakenly. Now it stuck at asus logo and doesn't proceed.
Also droidboot mood is also not opening. No USB logo appear on screen any time. When connected to my laptop my laptop sounds as connected but in adp it couldn't find the phone.
PLEASE HELP ME....!!!!!

my zenfone 2 have some problem such as:
1- can't uninstall any app , when trying to uninstall an application phone rebooted automatically and app still be there.
2- application permission manager not working,for example when i select not asking again for whatsapp to read contact every time i opened whatsapp that question still be there.

i trying to update my phone to new version but can't find any system update function in Settings>About
my software version:

According the above details i downloaded WW update from asus website but when trying to update just appear ERROR!!!
in recovery mode logs show:

Device image SKU: CN
OTA image SKU: WW

I guess I have wrong rom on my phone , please help me solve this problem.
if i download CN update from official asus website my phone will be ok?

I have bought a Zenfone 2 WW Edition and I read a lot about the ASUS ZenUI (a lot of apps that no one needs). Now I'd like to know if there is any Rom that's slim. I don't like the oversupply of apps that every developer forces you into. I only need the bare necessities and i want to use the full function-range of the hardware

is there any rom, that someone of you would recommend?

Zenfone ZE500CL vs ZE500KL

I'm sorry for making so many threads but i'm really really confused:

There are too many Zenfone variants and now i'm oriented on one of these two:

The ZE500CL, with an Intel Atom Z2560 dual core ( 1,8 GHz) and a 3000Mah battery (8Gb version only)

And the ZE500KL, with a Snapdragon 410 quad core (1.2Ghz) and a 2070Mah battery (16Gb version only).

No NFC in the KL but better camera.
Gorilla Glass 4 in the KL and GG3 in the CL (but TFT the KL and IPS the CL)

People say that battery life is comparable, even if the CL has a bigger battery (but i can't find any effective benchmark)

There are any other aspect i should consider in my choice?

Question about Asus Zenfone 2 Laser ZE500KL

my "old" moto g 2014 broke few days ago and now i need a new smartphone.

Since i can spend max 200€ there are really few options and i was thinking about hte Asus Zenfone 2 Laser ZE500KL [the one with the Snapdragon 410] (200€ here)

But I know no one who has it and i have lot of question:
can i root it? there is a "scene" support?
It has a "cheap plastic" feel?
How long the battery last?
Is the screen good enough?

Any downside?
It's weak?
it's "scratch-friendly"?

You will suggest another phone?
