Majestic / ALPS TAB 178 3G tablet (MT8382), infested with malware by design?

I have obtained a Majestic tablet called 178 3G, which is probably a rebrand of a chinese tablet called ALPS 178 3G. This thing is so infested with malware at the system level I could not make it usable even after rooting it and removing all the apps that even looked remotely like malware. Even after uninstalling like 20 apps it kept showing porn popups and more crap, so I decided to brick it to put it out of its misery. I didn't pay for it and I still feel ripped of by how ungodly this device is.

Now I have two possible courses of action.
1. Try to get a clean rom installed on it. This disgusting device has a MT8382 chipset. Is there any custom rom that I can get runnin on it to make it usable? Any website where you can get generic roms for generic, awful, disgusting MediaTek devices from China?
2. What would be the funniest way to dispose of it? I'm undecided if I should drop it from the 20th floor of the building where I work, prop it up between two slats of wood and then crush it with my car.

Polaroid tablet MIDC410 stuck on logo and can't boot in recovery mode

Today i got a polaroid tablet MIDC410 from a friend.
The problem is that is stuck on android logo and I can't enter recovery mode.

Cannot install drivers for MTX65xx on Windows 10 64 bit for Telekom Puls Tablet

I was looking at different websites on how to make universal adb drivers, but it won't work, Windows 10 64 bit is complaining then that the .inf file has been tampered with and refuses to install it.

I looked into multiple similar posts (also here on XDA), but none of them was conclusive. Does anyone have pointers or advice on how to make this thing work?

Also tried the ADBDriverInstaller by Koush, it says incompatible with Windows 64 bit when I try to download the driver.
I also tried various other prebuilt drivers from around the net, but none helped.

Is there any way to get this Tablet installed so I can start making apps?
I would appreciate any help.

Bricked Nvidia shield tablet

Hello I was installing Blisspop on my nvidia shield tablet and it got bricked I have wipes everything so I can restore it can someone please tell me how to fix this. Also I need alll links to download what I need.

Things I have:

Fastboot and adb on my computer and drivers (So I got that)

Tablet Froze; Couldn't Boot Recovery, Couldn't Boot ROM, Kept Rebooting to Asus Logo

This isn't as much as a "help!" question because I got the tablet working again (by flashing a stock blob); it's more of an question to try find out if I can prevent this from happening again...

I was just browsing tapatalk when my tablet froze. I rebooted and saw the tablet kept rebooting to the Asus logo. Recovery didn't work (it kept rebooting after the recovery logo would appear) and the the ROM (KatKiss LP v29) wouldn't boot.

Flashing TWRP again with fastboot didn't work. I couldn't flash the ROM again or use my Nandroid... I ended up formatting recovery with fastboot, flashed a stock blob to get it working again, and then restored from there, but it was a pain.

So I'm curious if anyone can guess what may have happened and if there is any way to prevent it from happening again?

My tablet don't charge after update to MM with OEM charger

Hi, today i flashed Android Marshmellow, all work except when i try to charge my tablet with the OEM charger, he start charge for 1 sec then stop.
At the first i thinked the charger was broken, but i try to charge my nexus 5 with it and it work perfect, then i try to charge nexus 9 with nexus 5 adapter and he charge :eek:.
I try 2 kernel (Elemental X - Fire Ice) but none of these worked. Thanks in advance for answers

I got Polaroid S20EG tablet, a few minutes ago, I tried to install Lollipop firmware which should work as I think, that's not the issue.
I used RKDevelopment Tools 1.37 and I did as these instructions:

Low game performance on Shield Tablet

Hi. I hope to be in the right section. I downloaded the famous game THE ROOM (1) on my tablet but the graphics are very very bad. Seems it is running on a low resolution. On my phone (LG Optimus G) the game is very detailed and runs perfectly. Does anyone have encountered similar problems?

Hi everyone.
I have an older tablet which is a Lavios(local brand) Dimira which always have a problem resulting in the tablet to freeze for a moment and "unfortunately android.process.acore has stopped" pop up and then you can close it. Obviously it make my tablet so slow and hard to use.
I can't pin point the exact problem(although OS related), but It looks like more often appear when something is loaded up, like when opening an app or even showing the keyboard.
It's seems to be OS related as other people who uses the same tipe of tablet have the same problem.

Now my question is how can I fix this pop up and freeze problem(the vendor doesn't have any software support)?
And is there any other ROM(custom) that can be used for my device (any ROM which work with similar specs device might worth a try) ?

Z4 tablet is the first xperia to play hd google play movies

I have had xperia z1, z2, z3, tablet z and one reason I always returned them was due to their inability to download google play movies in HD for offline viewing. To my surprise, when I downloaded to my z4 tablet, all 50 of my movies were in HD. As evidenced by their file size. Non hd are between 500mb and 1gb. Hd are between 1.4 and 3.5gb.

[Q] Tablet turns off without charger

My tablet works fine when it is charging. When I unplug the charger, the tablet shuts off after 1-2 seconds and it doesn't work. I flashed blisspop and the problem is still there. How do I fix this without RMA or opening the tablet?

Bad Recall Tablet

Hello people, last week i received my recalled tablet. I tried to turn it on and the first screen was the bootloader (see img below). Everytime i try to turn it on, the same bootloader screen apears, so what can I do? Obs: It came with Android 4.4.2, and its says there is up to date(i cant update to 5.1.1). What can I do? Complain to NVIDIA and try to get another recall? Or is there a fix for it?

Unable to sync Google contacts with tablet (Android)

Hi all,
I have just taken delivery of my X98 air 3g tablet and have setup the android side with my gmail account details, but there appears to be no way to enable syncing with my gmail contacts. In the account options it doesn't list contacts, and in the contact app I can only add two types of account, corporate or game centre account.
Can anybody please advise me if there is any way to access my gmail contacts on this tablet in android mode (I haven't even thought about syncing the windows 10 side yet :( ).

A problem with charging my tablet!

Like 3 or 4 months ago I bought a usb hub online as I wanted to connect a gamepad to my new tablet . I did so seeing a thread in tom's hardware stating that "Buy a powered usb hub and that will give enough power to your gamepad". I did exactly as stated in that thread . I used a old adapter to power that usb hub but unknowingly I forgot to lower down the voltage as it is controllable in that adapter! And that resulted in the tab always showing charging even when unplugged . I being furious about that saw a video on YouTube and that suggested doing a factory reset , I did that. And then it told to try to clean some dust in the charging port and I did that resulting in me damaging my charging port . I fixed it though by giving it to a local repair shop but now it only charges whe[spoiler][/spoiler]n switched off and discharges quite quickly . Any solutions? ::eek: :rolleyes: :(
