Extreme lag issues Xperia Pro (Lupus kernel + Ultimate HD ROM)

Good day all,

I am a proud owner of an Xperia Pro... Or was. I have this phone since 2011 and in order to keep using it I had to perform some major enchangements to keep it going.

The enchangements:

- Lupus stock plus kernel ICS
- Ultimate HD ROM
- Greenify (paid version)
- Link2SD (paid verison) all user apps are on ext2
- I/O = 'SIO'
- Governor = 'LagFree'
- CPU = '1018mhz'

There is no bloatware (removed it with Titanium Backup) on this phone, except for Google Play Services (which Tinder intended me to have in order to make use of it)

Now the issues. The phone is horribly slow sometimes, and has its moments that it reboots itself when it gets just a little heavy. Like, during navigation per bluetooth on car the phone reboots itself sometimes without a clue. Underneath here is a general list of what is wrong with the average usage on daily bases:

- Whatsapp sometimes takes avg 12 seconds to start
- Tinder takes avg 10 sec to start
- Browser (Dolphin) most times takes avg 5 seconds before I can use it.
- RootExplorer takes avg 5 seconds before I can use it.
- Quickpic takes 5 seconds before thumbnails are loaded

Please know that this is not always the issue, but most of the times: it is.
With several software I have tried to find the reason for this ridiculous lag, but I always seem to have enough RAM, internal memory and enough CPU so I don't know what is going on.
I also turned on the options to show ANR's in the background, it usually tells me either Whatsapp or Google Play that became an ANR, sometimes as a follow-up it says SystemUI ANR too.

I can re-flash the ROM and kernel but within a few days I will experience the same sh*t again.

Any other Xperia Pro user experience this? What are my options?

NOTE: I prefer not buying a new phone, in the Netherlands there are no such phones like the Xperia Pro anymore because of fashion reasons.

lollipop issues fixed with one app....

Okay I have a note 4 and ever since 5.0 and even 5.1 my phone with wifi on would lag .... chrome would load slow, some apps wouldn't load, app store would take minutes for everything to load, facebook, etc.....

I downloaded DNSet from app store set it to auto start and now my phone is 100% working no problems, this is after many cache wipes, factory resets....

Hope this helps someone if they are having problems like I have.

6.0 Marshmellow charging issues

First of all. I have an international version Nexus 5 (live in Norway), I updated to Android 6.0 Marshmellow a few days ago OTA. Here is a shot the stock battery monitor, just to clarify what I mean. This thread is NOT about battery drain or anything associated with bad battery life.

A screenshot of my battery the day after I installed the OTA update:

A screenshot of how my "battery" has been today:

Excuse the links, just remove the ----- and spaces. As I am a newly registered user, I am not allowed to post links.

After I installed the update, I used my phone normally for that day. Then, some time during the evening, the phone turned off abruptly even though it was at 15% battery power. Okay, I thought, and found the charger. Now I noticed that it wouldn't charge nearly at the normal speed. I was starting to suspect either the charger or the battery. During the night, however, it charged to somewhere right below 70%. Now it just seemed like a battery calibration issue. Fine, I thought, and searched up tips on re-calibrating the battery.
Sadly, it turned out that the slow charging that I had experienced the night before, persisted. By this time, I had tried different chargers, USB-port and a few different outlets, I had also tried replacing the battery with a spare I had lying around, all without any luck. As the phone creeped closer and closer to zero, while having the charger plugged in and the little lightning icon saying it was charging (although saying it was not, in the battery menu), I did a factory reset as suggested by some. The reset turned out to be futile, and for the rest of the day, the phone has been reliant on the charger to live, and the battery curve has been flat as pancakes.

Here is a list of what I have tried, so you don't have to waste your time.

-Different chargers, the ones coming with the phone, as well as a plethora of different brands I had lying around
-Turning off WI-FI while charging (someone on the Great Internet suggested it...)
-Replacing the battery with one I know work
-Factory reset
-Letting it turn itself off then charge it while off
-Turning it off while charging
-Charging it in the Fastboot menu (again... someone on the Great Big Internet suggested it)
-Checking the charging port for puppies and other rubbish that we have lying around there
-Keeping the charger connected for longer periods of time

Really the only alternative I haven't tried, is rooting it and rolling it back to 5.1 or something. Although I hoped I would not have to do that when I got my lovely N5 a few years ago... Any suggestions are devoured willingly.

New OnePlus One touchscreen issues!

Hi, I just purchased a brand new (sealed) OnePlus one from ebay which was RMA'd by the previous user due to some bootloader issue. The phone is great but I am having some touch screen issues when typing as it sometimes doesn't recognise my touches. I installed the 'ghost touch display tester' app and 'Yet another multitouch test app' and both prove that there is something wrong with the touch screen. I still have a chance to return the device back to the seller as I only received it yesterday but I wanted to know if there are any other fixes available that I could try as I really like the device. I am running the latest cm12.1 stock rom. I searched online and there is an option to install a custom kernel but I would rather not as I have previously bricked a phone in doing so.

Do you think Nexus 6 would be a better option as its only £40 more to buy at the moment.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Ringplus data issues

Anyone else using this company on this phone? I cannot seem to get the data to work properly. I do not know if it's set up wrong or if it's just sprint or ringplus. I've tried every setting and 3g and lte function like dialup when i test the internet. I'm actually ok with that but it would be nice to have regular speeds if i ever needed it away from Wifi. It is hard to complain about free phone service but I'm thinking it's just something simple i screwed up.

Marshmallow Nexus player Issues. Can anyone confirm?

Confirm so I know its not just me?

* Bluetooth in general seems to stop responding altogether after awhile. Restart required to get it working. Seems most noticeable when trying to play using a gamepad (NES30 bluetooth gamepad)

* sixaxis pair tool cant seem to configure driver. retries about 3 or 4 times, eventually gives up and restores bluetooth state

* can no longer change default launcher. HALLauncher for instance, does not let me use it as default launcher anymore.

* bluetooth seems to momentarily freeze. Using my nexus remote, sometimes remote stops responding but a usb connected keyboard still works even during this period. remote eventually goes back to normal.

(for the record, I am rooted, though alot of these issues still occured whether rooted or not.)

N7000 Wi-Fi Connection Issues

Hi everyone. I have an N7000, on stock 4.1.2. I've had the phone for several months now, and a few days ago rooted it using Philz-CWM6 method. I got root successfully, and had no real issues.

Last night, the battery drained fully, and the phone shut down. This morning I charged it up, and immediately noticed issues with the wi-fi. What happens specifically is when the phone first boots up, wi-fi works fine, I can browse the net, use any services that rely on network access, everything. After a short period of time, around 5 minutes at the most, I'm no longer able to access the internet, though the device is still connected to my home network, still has an IP, and can be pinged from another computer connected to the same network. If I turn my wi-fi off and then back on, it works about 50% of the time, but even then, only for a minute or two before it drops again.

I'm not too sure what the issue could be, it's not solely a DNS issue, as apps which don't rely on DNS, such as IRC don't work either. I've tried assigning the phone a static IP from the router, confirmed that there's no power saving options enabled for wi-fi on the phone, and rebooted both the phone and router several times with no luck.

Would anyone have any ideas where I could go from this point?

Issues with wp mod to disable system write protection

I'm a total noob to phone development, so when I read guides about installing the wp_mod, I'm confused. It's the last step to rooting this and getting rid of this crapware, so I really want to get it done. I downloaded the file and I copied it to my SD, downloaded terminal emulator to run the su command, but that's where I get lost. Can anyone sort of walk me through it? Thank you.

Screen wont turn off and charging issues

Hi. Hope someone could kindly help me!

My Note 3 is not turning off the lock screen. Its always on!!. If I press the power button the lock screen comes on, after few seconds it quickly flickers (like its trying to close) but turns on again. Its ongoing loop. I have resetted it dozen of times, factory reset now as well but issue remains. I just cant turn the screen off!

It also doesnt want to charge all the time. Is this a USB port issue? I hate to think I need to send it to EE for repairs as its over 1,5 years old and will take at least 2 weeks I think... (cost?).... :(

Wireless charging issues SOLUTION

I discovered this by assuming two chargers are better than one when the input Amperage is not enough . I stacked a RAVPOWER Charger on top of the Samsung Charger and had no issues. No need for daydream. I did this on two set ups one in the bedroom and another next to my PC. It worked every tine. So two base units apparently give of more charge current. BOTH charging pads are placed into a strip. Doubling the charging field leading me to believe 2A charging is not enough for the Note 5.

So I ordered 4Amp USB adapters and will try to go back to one pad. But two pads definitely work

Hope this helps

Wireless ChaRGING Issues? SOLVED

I too was getting the pausing issue . I decided to try to STACK the RavPower on top of the Samsung and low and behold NO MORE PAUSES. NO need for daydream. The phone just charges. to 100 I have this set up in two places and it works well.

The problem seems to be the adapters are not putting out enough juice for one phone So two stacked is better. I ordered 4A USB adapters to see if I can go back to one charger. But right now I have wireless charging

Wireless Charging issues Solution

I too like many have had the dreaded "wireless charging paused" issue. I solved it by stacking the RAvPower pd on top of the samsung pad. Somehow the addition charging field is enough. Worked without fail.

I am orderining 4Amp USB adapters hoping the additional Amperage will eliminate the need for two chargers stacked.

Issues with 2 Factor Authentication After Marshmallow Update?

I have a Nexus Player, that got the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. I had to remove and add a Google account back. The account has 2 Factor Authentication. The Nexus Player goes throug the process of taking the ID, Password and the 2nd factor passcode. But then, it goes to the Google Account Security Web Page and gets stuck there. If I hit the home button, then going into settings, the account has not been added. It seems Marshmallow on the NP has issues with adding a 2 Factor Authentication account. No such issues using an account that does not have 2 Factor Authentication.

Anyone else had this issue? Any way to add a 2 Factor Authentication account, without ever removing 2 Factor for any period of time?

Issue's resetting phone - Any alternative solutions?

Hey guys,

I bought a phone off of Craigslist and it appears that the phone is locked with a password. I tried to go through the bootloader and do a factory reset but I get a message that the MDM Does Not Allow Reset or something along those lines. I have also tried to use Odin to flash a stock recovery, that goes through successfully, but upon starting up the phone it appears that the password is still locked to the phone and nothing changed.

I tried calling the person who I purchased the phone from and there is no answer, so at this point I feel like I lost money and cant use the phone.

Please help

External SD card issues

I have a few issues with my external sd and I would like to see if anyone else is facing similar issues and if they could be resolved.

a) When moving about files already stored in the extSD by using my PC (windows 10), it just takes ages or hangs there forever. This happens even for the smallest files like 500kb and it was happening even on windows 7. For example, lets say I create a new folder and try to drag and drop 3 files into the new folder at the same time, it takes over five minutes for 3mb, if it ever completes. The same happens for the internal SD. I have lollipop but the same was happening with kitkat. Is this normal?

b) After upgrading to lollipop my extSD sometimes will not mount. Card is sundisk 32GB and works fine on my PC and my android phone. It is formatted to fat32. I had to format it on my phone because the PC format was causing the issue more often. LG g-pad 7 doesn't have an option to format SD, only to delete everything.

c) Sometimes when I move things within the extSD from the tablet itself (connected to the PC), windows explorer does not update the transfer, unless I restart windows explorer.

d) Sometimes when I create a folder on the tablet, my PC sees it as a file and I cannot open it or store anything in it by using the PC, but I can if I use the tablet. I don't know if this also happens with the internal SD because it does not happen every time so it is hard to check.

Android Pay - anyone else having issues?

Wallet seemed to be more reliable before the app was split up

If I have the phone already unlocked, it doesn't seem to ever want to pick up the scan. Do I have to lock it to get it to work?

Debloat issues

I used package disabler pro to debloat my phone, however certain functions do not work even after enabling all disabled apps and rebooting. For example I cant give greenify special privileges because the allow button is grey, and i cannot install new themes. When i hit download a popup happens and disappears right away. Anyone have similar issues or a solution (other than FDR)?

LG G Flex 2 issues?

Hey Guys! I'm thinking of buying the LG G Flex2 H950 from qualitycellz on ebay, just had a few questions.
1. does the phones still overheat for anyone on the 5.1.1. update?
2. is there a list of apps that are safe to remove once rooted?
3. is the s810 the rev 1 or the 2.1 found in the later models of the m9, oneplus 2, z5?
4. can you disable cores and just run it as a g4 basically?
5. I hear battery life is spotty, how much sot are you guys getting with boat disabled? and does disabling the cores help?
6. I have heard a lot of people have had flickering screen and rebooting on devices bought on ebay from the above seller, has anyone purchased any recently? do you have this issue?

Thanks

For those having issues editing their build.prop in Marshmallow,or other system files

As ive been reading about this very much lately, after people have flashed Marshmallow and rooted, many are having issues editing their build.prop files. And many arent having any issues at all. Well, the fix is rather easy. You are going to have to change your SElinux to be permissive. Many that arent having the issue is because they are either using a custom kernel that has set SElinux to be permissive, or are using an app to change it. I use an app, dir viper4, because it needs to gave SElinux at permissive. There arent any apps that do it in the play store, because google removed them. But.. theres a site called xda that somebody is posting their SElinux changer app in ;) http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2524485

H81010o issues

I ended up getting the latest ATT/LG software update, build LMY47D / H81010o. It actually let me choose when to install it so I'm happy about that, but I'm having a few problems. The screen seems to be working better now, taps, touches, swipes, and drags seem to be working correctly - but my phone is running really hot - even after a couple reboots. and for some reason all of my task killers no longer work. I use CCleaner and AVG to flush out ram because even though the G4 has 3gb, about 1.6gb is always in use with factory apps only. None of the task killers detect any running apps now, even the built-in LG task killer doesn't find anything running in the background.

Anyone else having issues with task killers? I've cleared the cache out of them, dumped the data, re-installed them, and they still don't work. I had a few other apps that quit working but once I dumped the cache they started to work again. Also, the phone seems to boot a little quicker and charge faster too, seems like mixed results with the latest upgrade.
