Evo Design NEEDS voice recognition

I have an HTC Evo Design currently running a custom rom based on Android 4.0.3. I like the rom very much the issue is that for some reason it is completely lacking in voice recognition. This baffles me due to the fact that the Evo 3D I had previous to this phone (model from about 1 year before the Design came out) did have voice recognition. So... i really need to implement whatever solution is most sensible & practical to give this Evo Design voice recognition capability... IF that is possible. I'm asking what is the issue in terms of either hardware or OS limitations and/or compatibility that are effectively keeping me from having speech recognizer with my current phone configuration?

Btw in the interest of full disclosure I've already asked what is essentially this question here: h**p://forum.xda-developers.com/general/xda-assist/evo-design-looking-fast-rom-speech-t3211198 On the one hand I understand that being the asker of the question puts me in a sort of beggars can't be choosers category & so I do have some humility about this. On the other hand I can't help but think someone out there has more/better info in regards to what is the crux of voice issue and what can be done to solve it.

Thanks!

After repair, Sense 6.0 needs bootloader unlock and root from scratch

I got my m7 repaired and they reset the phone to Sense 6, removing all my bootloader unlock and root etc. I need to start from scratch. What's the best way to get it unlocked and rooted? There are threads from 2013 but they don't apply to Sense 6.

Can someone help?

New user needs help!

Hi ALL,

I just got my ZW yesterday and although there was a fair amount of frustration initially I think I'm getting the hang of it. I do have small wrists so its kind of big, but I think its livable. I have a few questions I hoping to get some answers to.

It is paired with an LG Volt running Kit Kat 4.4.2 and the ZW got updates to Android OS 5.1.1.

1. Part of the frustration I had yesterday was in connecting to my phone. I had already installed the Android Wear and Zenwatch apps on my phone and I started both and then turned the ZW on for the first time and it did connect reasonably soon. It updated and then I played with it for a while powering both down to see what would happen. But then I had hard time re-connecting and ultimately had to do a factory reset and the ZW updated again and at least it did connect. Now when I want to use the ZW I power on the phone, start the A-Wear app and then power up the ZW. The last several times it did connect but took a minute or so. My question is this all normal operation for the ZW and have others had to do a factory reset?

2. One thing that really bothered me was that when the ZW was connected all the sounds on the phone (like the sound when you tap on an icon) were very low, almost silent. Even when I powered down the ZW the sounds were still very low. I had to restart the phone to restore the proper sound level. BUT . . . this morning I tried everything out before writing this and the ZW connected and the tapping sounds on the phone are FINE!!! This is not what it was doing yesterday! Has anyone seen this behavior?

3. When an incoming call comes in the ZW displays the caller ID and if its in my contacts their name and picture - this is what I really wanted in a watch. Then you can swipe to the red to send the call to voice mail or swipe to the green to connect the call. Once connected there are three screens: Mic, Speaker and Hang up. Tapping on the Mic draws a line though it and mutes the mic. But tapping the Speaker also draws a line through it but that TURNS ON THE SPEAKER, just the opposite of the Mic. Is this a bug?

4. Lastly, from the clock face, when I swipe to the left the first screen are the apps. The third screen is the Google Now stuff. But the second screen says: No contacts found - Add contacts to contacts app on phone. But I have plenty of contacts in the app on the phone and when a call comes in the ZW correctly shows the called ID info from my contacts. Is there another place I have to enter the contacts on the phone?

Thanks in advance for anyone who can help me out!!

Android noob desperatley needs help resurrecting his tablet

So last week I was messing around with SP Flash tool and tried to flash my phone's stock rom which I finally found on the internet because I have a uncommon model. So after flashing everything went ok, except for the fact that my phone refused to power on, I would plug it into a power source and it would tell me it's charging but refuse to power on, until now I thought the power button broke coincidentally. But, 10 mins ago I decided to mess around even more and did the same thing to my new perfectly working non-rooted tablet (for which I also installed usb drivers and got stock flash files). So here's what I did, it was out of batter and it powered down, so I plugged it into my laptop and I got the sound that it was detected. I opened Flash tools and went into memory test just to see if I got the same results as I did on my phone, I got an error that I have no idea what it said but basically I think it said it didn't detect my device and I should format it or something. So i plugged it out and it refused to turn on. I plugged it into AC charging and nothing happened, I pulled it in and out and tried to power it on but nothing is happening...
Can someone please help me, my tablet still has warranty so I can take it to the store and get it fixed, but I know now that my phone isn't broken physically. Any way, if I can get clear instructions on how to fix my tablet and or phone I would be grateful.
My phone is an Alcatel 4030x (running Android 4.1) and my tablet is a Lenovo Tab 2 A7-10 (running Android 5)
P.S - my tablet does not have a removable battery
