Problems playing music stored on sdcard

Hi, is anyone else experiencing issues with playing music stored on their sdcard? The music plays for several minutes and then will just pause for no apparent reason. No sign that the card has been unmounted or anything like that, could it be a problem with the card itself perhaps although I've copied lots of music to and from it with no problems?

Thanks

Lollipop: no advanced music widget on lockscreen

I have been checking SamMobile for 5 months every day to see when Lollipop comes out for my area. The waiting game is officially over! Really impressed with the smooth GUI and performance (though the battery - 2500 mAh - will definitely not last as much as with KitKat).

One thing that really bugs me: I listen to a lot of music on my phone and the big lockscreen music widget was quite a blessing for me. It had a slider, next/previous track, play/pause, so pretty much everything. Now, Lollipop threw out the whole concept of lockscreen widgets and has only these notifications (which are pretty cool), but the music player notification is trash. Small buttons, no slider etc. I found a neat music player called Star, and it kinda solves the problem, but still no slider.

Did anyone find an acceptable solution to this problem?

Best Music Player App For Moto G 2015 Other Than Play Music

Hey guys I know that Moto G3 doesn't have a standalone music player app. The moto g 2015 has Google Play Music, which plays the music files, but the UI and usage of this app is pathetic. It's missing useful controls like quickly changing songs.

I have managed to extract the official sony walkman app from a Xperia smartphone. This Walkman app works perfectly on Moto G3 and has useful controls like shuffle, swipe to change songs, make playlists, search music and set any song as a phone ringtone. The app doesn't require updates and the extreme bass works perfectly.

Just download and install the apk and enjoy a better music player for MOTO G 2015.

Music player dev - protecting users against Stagefright 2?

We write a music player app. The info on Stagefright 2:

https://blog.zimperium.com/zimperium...-mp3mp4-media/

says that third party music players that use Android's standard media playing libraries are vulnerable. OS patches are on their way but we'd like to do our bit, we support down to 2.1.

But dev-level details on the exploit seem to be hard to find right now.

It's something to do with the metadata of the file, is that just id3 tags? If so it would be relatively simple to edit the file to sanitise them before passing them to MediaPlayer, maybe raising an error if the file can't be written to. Might have to use a third-party library to do that rather than Android's parser which might trigger the exploit.
It mentions 'Android previewing the file' - what does 'previewing' mean? Is that the browser calling MediaPlayer.setDataSource() or MediaPlayer.prepare()?
It also mentions 'libutils' - is that MediaPlayer accessing libutils or does the app need to access libutils in some other way? I'm guessing it's not only MediaCodecInfo and friends as they are API 16+.

Music volume not very loud

I have been noticing that if I turn up my volume when headphones or external speaker is plugged in, it automatically goes down. Im looking to rip out whatever is not allowing my volume to go up loud. Anyone have any ideas where I can start looking? I have a rooted VM Desire 510 with factory kernel and ROM. I have booted a kernel before that was not write protected and removed a bunch of bloatware and unneeded system apps.

Z5 compact and Android auto music not working

Has anyone who has received their z5 have an android auto head unit in their car to test with? I'm having a problem where audio from Google play music won't play over USB when I'm using android auto. I'm wondering if it is just me.

Looking for a smartwatch that works as music player (via bluetooth)

Hello to everybody,
I'm looking for a smartwatch that could be paired with a couple of bluetooth earphones, acting as music player and that could works without a phone.
I found a lot of cheap device that has a TF (microsd) slot and that could be paired with bluetooth earphones, and this is good.

But I would like to have also Radio FM and I was unable to find a device that could work with bluetooth earphones because all the devices I found with radio FM needs to have earphones jack inserted because they act as antenna.

So I started looking for a device that could run app without a phone, something like "tune in radio", that streams music via data connection, but I'm not sure if someone has already developed something similar, I've seen that Samsung has created the Gear S that has a 3G and wifi connection but I'm not sure of what are its capabilities, if it could work alone (without a phone) for the task I need.

Does anybody knows if there's something that could fit my needs? (or mp3 stand alone with radio FM via bluetooth or mp3 with undependent streaming radio app)

also phone is unlocked im not on tmobile network, sometimes i have very poor reception, in areas where friend's phone goes from 3g to E my phone completely loses communication with network and i cant call or do anything. is there any solution here, try different modem, if thats the possibility for n900t? can i maybe flash n9005 modems (link pls, does it have to be 4.4.2 modem?)
here is my setup at the moment

IF modem change is not possible, i would like to flash custom stock-like lollipop n9005, like this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/gala...05-lp-t3037655
do i have to use some precautions or just download it, put it on external sd, delete everything and flash with twrp? do i have to first flash stock 5.0 via odin ( i read something somewhere that n900t users shouldnt use odin, not sure  )

Google Play Music and /data fstrim issue

Hello everyone

Currently, I'm facing a very annoying issue and I have no idea how to solve this.
I'm running Lollipop 5.0.1 on my device. As soon as the system runs fstrim in the background, my entire Google Play Music cache (12GB) disappears and everything needs to be re-downloaded.
I allowed my Google Play Music app to download even on mobile data because I thought adding ~10 songs per week doesn't strip my entire mobile data volume. I didn't reckon that it would download 2000 songs while being outside, so it ate my entire data volume.

I can reproduce this issue by downloading the whole music library and afterwards run fstrim manually via terminal: fstrim -v /data.
Then I see that it trims 12GB data. If I open my Google Play Music app again, it starts re-downloading everything... :(

Does anyone have an idea how to solve this? Is there a way to exclude a directory from fstrim?

Side note: I've always been using Google Play Music. I also use Lollipop since its release. I never experienced this issue before, it somehow started recently, but I have no idea why or when it started. :crying:
