Aftv kodi slow down

Hey all
I'm having some issues with both my fire TV and fire TV stick. I've installed kodi, plus genesis and a few other add ons on each and changed the skin (aeon nox silvo on stick and titan on fire TV gen1), updated the library with some of my favourite shows and over time it seems to be getting slower and slower, particularly when I try to add a new repo, along with freezing during startup updates if I'm trying to do something at the same time, eg. Watch a TV show.

I wondered if anyone else had been having any similar problems? And whether there was any possible fixes?

Thanks all :)

Fastboot's Wipe Cache Partition very slow on 6.0?

Like the title says, it takes about 5 - 10 minutes to perform a wipe from Recovery, where in Lollipop and before, it was a few seconds. A couple of websites have corroborated this.

Does anyone know what's changed in 6.0 that a cache wipe takes so long? I'm on an unrooted N5 and performed a clean factory flash (and re-locked the bootloader).

Did we go from

Code:

mkfs -t ext4 /dev/[device]

to

Code:

rm -rf /cache/*

or something? I mean, even formatting a heavily encrypted partition shouldn't take that long (especially one as small as /cache).

Anyone?

[Q] Nexus 4 - slow GPS, spotty LTE / Common?

Hey all,

I have a Fire HDX 7 with ggows HDX Nexus 4.0.5 installed. As the title says, the GPS is slow (takes long to find a fix, >1 minute) and LTE often doesnt work at all (randomly, sometimes airplane mode and back fixes it). As I'm using the Fire as my navigation unit with Google Maps, both these issues are quite big for me.

So my question to the Fire HDX with LTE owners: How is your GPS? Do you have cellphone data location working (doesnt seem to work for me at all)?
And what OS are you running to have good LTE?

Thanks for your feedback!

[HELP] Slow Xposed downloads

First of all, SORRY if I posted this in the wrong section! :silly:

So, I've been trying to download my favorite modules from the Xposed repo, but it's been giving me a hard time. Whenever I try to use my WiFi (10mbps), the downloads are so slooooooooow. When I use my friend's WiFi(10mbps), they download faster. Downloads from Chrome, Play Store, etc. are at normal speed. Only Xposed downloads are slow.

Any suggestions?

Wi-Fi starts up too slow, Galaxy S4

Hi guys ! Haven't found this thread anywhere so I had to ask.
When I installed a new Stock ROM everything was perfect, but as time went by, my wifi started to turn on slower and slower, now it takes him about 1 minute just to turn on. When I turn it on and go to Settings it just shows a blank page until the wifi turns on.
Please, DO NOT suggest:
1. Cache wiping
2. Safe mode and uninstalling previous apps
3. Wifi boosters
4. Advanced Wifi settings, special menu settings, turning of battery savings etc

Since I have tried all of those options
And yeah, everytime I reinstall a Stock ROM it works like a charm, but I don't have time to do it every 3-4 months just to make wifi fast as a lightning, as installing a new rom takes time and reinstalling all the apps makes me very nervous
Thanks for the answers, stay cool as always ! :)

Does anyone find the speed of focus and shutter is very slow?

I am now on Oxygen OS 2.1 and find out shutter speed and focus speed is very slow especially under dim enviroment. It really sucks and makes me hard to record my child. I research for a while and find out the root reason is focus speed is slow. Sometimes you think the camera has completed focus job but it sill keeps finding where the focus point is. :(:(:( I dont if one plus two team will improve focusing speed in the upcoming firmware update or some powerful third party kernel or rom.......

Slow app downloads on cyanogenmod?

im on cyanogenmod 12.1 on my nexus and every once in a while the phone will refuse to download apps at more than 2-3 Kbps on LTE meaning a 50MB app takes 72 hrs (according to the play store estimates) how do i fix this? there is plenty of speed on my network for every other app to operate lightning fast...

Fast battery drain, slow battery charge - is there a de-bloater?

I recently got unlocked Samsung Note 5 (9200 - Chinese version because 9201 is not sold in the UK). I got a few issues I would like to resolve:
- Note 5 battery drain is overly fast... Is there a way to improve battery life using Stock ROM?
- Is there a de-bloater for the latest Stock 5.1.1 ROM that gets rid of most of the crap and maybe some stuff that drains battery too much?
- Slow-charge is too slow and when I use Google Maps and listen to music in my car, slow-charge won't even charge fast enough and the battery continues to drain, but at a slower pace
- Is there a way to make Fast-charge work without the screen turning off? I would love to use Fast-Charge while using Google Maps in my car?
- Can the Chinese 9200 version be flashed with Custom ROM's for version 9201? What about kernels - can kernels for version 9201 be flashed onto version 9200?

Slow wifi on Android Marshmallow 6.0 (MRA58K)

Hi guys! :)
I don't know if someone has already said something about this, but I've noticed, after I've made a clean format and flash of Marshmallow 6.0 on my Nexus 6 through Fastboot, reinstalling all my apps manually, one by one, that Wifi connection is very slow.
When I use LTE, everything is okay, but when Wifi is on, downloads and web surfing slow down :(
I've checked my router settings and everything is fine, since I have other Android devices with Lollipop 5.1 and 5.1.1 which download and surf at full speed, so what could it be?
Is there anyone who has the same problem?
I imagine that it could be the first Marshmallow bug, similar to the one of Lollipop 5.0, where Bluetooth was very slow, because other people on the web complained about that after Monday

Any 5.1 ROM that isn't horribly slow?

I use CM12.1 on both my N7 2012 and N6 and it's incredibly slow on the N7. Clearing the cache does nothing, trim does nothing, F2FS /cache and /data does nothing and even the stock 5.1.1 image is slow.

I've read everything under the sun about poor NAND, not enough RAM, poor CPU, etc but none of them really make that much sense. I have hardly anything running EVER and I only have a few apps installed for opening documents an such. No Facebook or Email clients or anything that would be running in the background. The built in RAM manager tells me that I usually have over 50% of my RAM free and with such a small number of things running, my CPU usage is low, so I fail to see where the issue lies. I guess the NAND, but I also read articles about how that's kind of a load of bull as someone tested old 2012 N7s that had been heavily used and slow, as well as new ones and the R/W speeds were the same.

The main thing that bothers me about it is the fact that when I do a clean install of the 5.1.1 factory image or even CM12.1, it will be snappy for all of 10 minutes and then suddenly it becomes annoyingly slow. It's by no means unusable, but compared to my Nexus 6 every action feel like it takes 2-3 times a long. Even doing my pattern unlock feels sluggish.

I went back to KitKat tonight and it seems to run much better, but there are some things I've gotten so used to with Lollipop and Holo looks plain ugly now that I'd really rather not use KK. Does ANYBODY know of something I can do to speed it up even a little bit. This almost seems like a kernel related issue to me, seeing as how the N7 has been running off of an old kernel for most of it's life. It makes me wonder if there are some kernel-level things that might be done to help.

Slow loading times on Android 6.0

Hey guys, I had posted a while back saying that for some reason, after flashing the new build of Marshmallow to my Nexus 6, the load times for web pages and just about everything else seems to be a bit slower than usual. I had said at the end of the post that it was fixed, but now the problem is arising again. Is anyone noticing long load times with all apps that use internet? Web pages load slower, the Facebook app takes much longer to load pictures and posts, Skype took longer to login and show everyone's profile pics etc. Never had this problem before on lollipop!

Slow loads times in chrome since update

Hey guys, I flashed the new MRA48K build from the Google developers website, everything is working great! However is seems like web pages in chrome now load much slower when connected to my 2.4Ghz band. It seems a bit faster when connected to a 5Ghz network (I have a dual band router) and I was wondering if anyone else was noticing the slower load times since the update. Before this update the load times using my 2.4 Ghz band were really really good, now they're a bit slow. Anyone else?
