Hey there
My Xperia Z1 Compact is nearly dead, after beeing submerged in water, with a tiny bit bend frame, on the flap side! It looks as if the back panel has come a little loose near the frame, and this is probably where the water went in, all flaps were clean and proberly closed.
I have made heaps of underwater movie and stuff without a problem, but hadn´t noticed, that I probably bend the frame a little :(
After i have dried it, sitting in the sun with flaps open and up, the red led comes on and it charges! The alarms comes on vibrating and with sound, and I can actually shut them up, by sliding my finger on the screen, where the slider used to be!
Obviously I can´t see anything on the screen, it is tottaly dead, but since I can shut up the alarm, the digitizer seems to be working!
Also I can´t get any connection to Sony Companion or even USB-state, when connecting it to my Win 7 HP-Elitebook, and that is my biggest worry!
Has anyone tried the same scenario???
And what are the prospects of repairing or bringing back life to the phone!! Off course I can buy a new back and screen, probably straighten the frame, but I dont want to waste any money on that, if the motherboard is dead!
