Motorola UK Warranty

I'd just like to inform others who may have heard of, or experienced troubles with N6 warranty repairs in the UK.

I've read that unlocked rooted phones will lose warranty in UK. However my unlocked rooted phone decided to pack up one day, the display died never to awaken again. I googled a little and decided to try and flash a factory image but got script errors. So, I googled some more and came across a little info posted by Wolf Paulus which did the job.

You need to extract the factory image first, once extracted the only file you need to use is image-shamu-lmy47z.zip. Extract the contents of this file to your c:/ or fastboot directory.

Now execute all install steps manually, step by step:
adb reboot bootloader
./flash-base.sh
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash cache cache.img
fastboot flash userdata userdata.img
fastboot oem lock
fastboot reboot

All flashed well, no errors. I still couldn't wake the device but i sent it to Motorola UK and within 3 days they posted it back fully repaired no question asked.
So I assume if anyone with N6 issues were able to follow this procedure prior to contacting the repair centre they shouldn't have any problems.

As an added piece of info, the authorised Motorola UK repair centre address is
Motorola UK (SBE Ltd)
Beaver Industrial Estate
Ashford
Kent
TN23 7SH

Motorola Turbo Charger

Motorola 15W Turbo Charger with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 Technology (New or Re-Certified)

http://gr.pn/1RAGQKE

For 9.99 recertified or get it new for 14.99!

Looks like Motorola DID write the updates, but it's AT&T and VZW holding them back

http://www.wi-fi.org/product-finder-...,XT1097,XT1095

The updates went to the WiFi Alliance for certification. Maybe AT&T and VZW will stop dragging their feet and let us have it.

Motorola style return questions

Hi
Today I received my style but I want to return the device , just a couple of questions that I can't find on the website.

1, I made the phone on the moto maker website with personal preferences so will this affect my return?

2, I haven't open the packaging, will this invalidate my return if I try out the phone?

Thanks in advance:good:
