Poor wifi 5Hz n reception with ZUK Z1

Hi,

My ZUK Z1 european version has just arrived and I am noticing that it cannot take the 5Hz wifi when there is some distance in between. If it does it, it disconnects in seconds. It does connect to the 2.4Hz g without too many problems (some times even not this one). If I put only 5Hz networks, the same happens. Sometimes it doesn't see the signal at all.

This doesn't happen when I am next to the router. So, since the 5Hz deteriorates more with distance (AFAIK) what I'm describing shouldn't be surprising. My doubts are because with the nexus 4 (Android, not cyanogen) it grabs the 5Hz without any problem at exactly the same long distance (2 thin walls, few furniture in between), and I find very unlikely that the wifi chip of the nexus 4 is superior than the one of the zuk z1.

Any idea?

The reception on this phone is awful?

I noticed since I got this phone about 3 weeks ago that no matter what, stock or custom ROM my reception is incredibly bad. I roam almost everywhere I go unless I'm home and the new place I will be moving too in a month I have to literally leave the neighborhood to do anything.
I previously had a Galaxy S4 and I never had these issues and I'm currently using the same sim card that was in that phone.

Can anyone help me?

Poor Cellular Reception After COI5 Firmware Update

I flashed the firmware for COI5 manually via odin and ever since then I cannot connect to LTE. Furthermore, I can barely connect to any signal. The bars show up, but it often takes a while for the 4G icon to show up. When it does, I am still not able to place a call, with Wi-Fi calling being the only hope I have to do so, but calls placed to me that way go straight to voicemail, so I have to call out from my phone.

Note: Knox is tripped, as I was rooted. I am also in an area where I alway get full bars of LTE, so location is not the issue.

Troubleshooting steps I have tried:
  1. Reflashing COI5 firmware via odin.

  2. Adding the LTE APN for T-Mobile.

  3. Using Smart Switch to do emergency recovery.

  4. Flashing BOH6 firmware (did not work as I don't believe you can downgrade firmware, was worth a shot anyways).

  5. Flashing different custom ROMs (all repeated the same problem, which is how I narrowed it down to having to do with the firmware).

I am currently running completely stock at the moment. If anybody has any suggestions on what I should try next or how I can fix this, I would greatly appreciate it.
