Help with Z5C cases

Hi there, people,

This is the first high end smarthphone I have ever owned and I am quite at loss with the case selecting issue. On one hand, the device looks awesome without any case, and it's been marketed as "no need for a case". On the other, I would absolutely hate discovering a scratch in my brand new Z5 Compact, at least while the device is less than a year old.

So, I ask the following question to the community: Which case (brand) have you been using with your Z5C (or other high end phones)? "No case" is also an answer, if you've been using a S6E without case since launch, I would love to know, as I wouldn't expect the Z5C to endure less.

I wouldn't mind paying premium for a premium case, in fact, my goto option would be the official Sony case, but in this particular case, I happen to find it hideous.

Thanks!!

PS: Any comments about the screen protectors would be welcomed, tempered crystal, plastic... I always suspected that it was a scam.

Any cool phone cases for Samsung Galaxy S6?

Hey, my sister bought Samsung Galaxy S6 in July, and her birthday is approaching. I don't know what to buy... I'm thinking of buying her a nice cell phone case. Where can I find some cool case? I'm looking at Spigen, UAG, or Design Skin, which I found recently. What are some good cases?

A call to mobilize for cases

Hello All,

It seems to me that none of the big boys in the case market don't think there is a market to make cases for the Nexus line of phones (5x/6p).

I've sent emails to UAG and lunatik, a facebook message to Otterbox and got the responses that there is either no information or no interest in making the cases for these phones.

This is a call for you to bug those companies to show them there is demand for good quality cases for the Nexus line of phones.

Once the reviews come out there will be more demand but for now let's make some noise and email or flood the Facebook pages to let them know that we want the cases.

If we can show them there's people who will buy them maybe they will get their head out of their asses and put in the effort

Post who you have emailed and update with responses. With some luck and effort, we might be able to change their minds

There is a similar post in the 6p accessories forum. if we are to get anywhere we need to work together

Just to let everyone know, I contacted Tech21 and they said no cases for the 6P.

Review of 3 cases

I've now tried 3 cases purchased from Amazon, all good in their own way.

Terrapin TPU gel case £5.25. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...ilpage_o02_s00

(I got the smoke black, which doesn't seem to be there anymore).

Good fit, cutouts work although if I was being picky I'd say they maybe are a tiny bit off center. The volume and camera keys are covered with buttons on the case that work but could be easier to use. The power button feels a bit deep in the shell, due to the 2mm or so thickness of gel. Seems to offer very good protection, best of the 3. Case comes slightly above the screen, so protecting it if you lay it face down. Adds moderate bulk to the phone.

Roxfit Titanium shell £10.09. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...ilpage_o01_s00

Bit misnamed, it's plastic with what looks like a metal insert in the back. Very good fit (in fact difficult to get the phone back out). It exposes a lot more more of the sides of the phone (all of the top, bottom, and the buttons area on the right) than the Terrapin, but still gives very good protection and makes use of the buttons easier. Corners are well protected and the case comes up over the screen, protecting it if you lay it face down. It feels pretty sturdy overall. It looks premium from the back with the gold insert, although the plastic around it maybe less so. Thinner round the sides than the Terrapin but bulkier at the back.

Easydigital hard back £2! http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...ilpage_o00_s00

The cheapest of the 3, and although you can tell it's actually pretty good. Very light and thin, adds the least bulk to the phone. It's the hard plastic type of case as opposed to the gel Terrapin. It's completely clear and because it's so thin, it actually looks better on the phone than the others (in my opinion) as the phone basically looks as it normally does. The top and bottom are exposed as on the Roxfit, there are cutouts for the buttons on the right, as the case is so thin this doesn't affect their use. One point to note - if you use the cord attachment hole on the left of the phone, you can't use this case as it doesn't have a cutout for it. It offers the least protection, the corners are just covered and it only just comes above the screen. At the moment I have a plastic protector, but when the tempered glass one turns up this will probably be proud of the case. The fit is about 99% - the phone moves a tiny fraction within the case, which I'm sure could be solved with a tiny sliver of rubber in there - although to be honest I'm being very picky and it's not really a problem to live with it.

Note - none of the cases have a cutout for the sim/micro sd cover, not an issue for me.

I'm currently using the easydigital, I'll see how it works when the glass screen cover turns up.

Orzly Cases for the Sony Xperia Z5 [with videos]

Hi all,

This phone is available here in the UK but to my surprise, there's not much in the way of accessories. Don't get me wrong, there are products on Amazon but nothing in the way of YouTube videos to see if the cut outs are correct around the case.
In my search I came across these cases from Orzly. It's their signature cases they bring out for most flagship handsets but thought it would be useful to share with the XDA community as I'm sure there's people looking for cases.
