[AFTV2 Gaming Controller] Thoughts on listening to audio through the headphone jack?

I currently have a wired pair of headphones connecting to a bluetooth receiver to listen to audio from the FTV 2 while on my bed. There is some interference and depending on where the receiver is placed, there is an occasional drop in sound for a split second, that reoccurs every 6 seconds.

Thus, my next best option would be to spend on the Amazon's second gen Gaming controller that has the headphone jack. Wifi Direct is better than Bluetooth, but from the recent experience with my 2nd gen remote and there is very limited reviews regarding the audio on the headphone port.

So has anyone that purchased the gaming edition tried out listening to videos / audio / gaming sounds via the headphone jack on the controller?

Headphone volume is very low...

I know that this issue is widely reported with various Samsung devices, but this is ridiculous anyway. Why are they doing this? Built-in tablet speakers are quite loud, so this is not a general volume issue, it is specific to headphone output. To add insult to injury, the tablet displays its standard "hearing protection bla bla bla" warning at volume that makes the music just barely audible.
